Description:

FPD has an immediate opening for an experienced Electrical Estimator in the Minneapolis, MN area.

FPD, an electric construction and power advisory services company is seeking a seasoned estimator with 3+ years competitively bidding commercial electrical projects. Prior experience with both negotiated and hard bid work, along with a proven track record with projects ranging up to $15 million is essential.

Candidate must be specialized in estimating labor, materials, and other needs for medium to large projects for periodic and major maintenance activities for turbine outages, turn-key overhauls and relocations, including steam & gas turbines, generators, valves, boilers and BOP. Must be able to understand bid documents, mechanical plans, blueprints, and equipment operating instructions.

Candidate will also lay out the basic schedule and planning necessary to put together accurate proposals.

Candidate must be able to work on an as-needed, per project basis and have previous experience with GE, Westinghouse, Mitsubishi, Alstom, or ABB.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering/construction management or equivalent experience.
3+ years estimating experience.
Both estimating experience and three years field and electric construction experience.
Prefer candidate with strong digital applications skills. Knowlegde of Excel, Timberline, etc.
Effective oral and written communication skills, strong organization/time management skills.
